Region 2 Update

Friday July 24, 2020

With all of the local schools officially announcing that they will be starting the school year online, this has removed much of our practice and game field access. AYSO Region 2 is still very much committed to providing a Soccer experience for our children but we will be unable to start our program at the end of August as we have in years past.

Our program is not being canceled this Fall as has been reported through a local news outlet, but simply postponed.

How long you may ask ? We unfortunately do not know at this time. With all things related to the COVID-19 pandemic, things are unpredictable and changing rapidly. We are committed to providing a quality Soccer program for all of our children and doing it safely. We are still planning towards this next season and while it may look different from what we have provided in the past, we are committed to put forth the best soccer program in the San Gabriel Valley and do it as soon as we are able to do it safely.

Our Registration remains open to sign your kids up. There is no charge at this time, and when it comes time for our program to begin, we will provide complete details on what to expect for our season.

Some positive news to report is that our summer soccer partners Challenger Sports were able to secure permits to run a Day Camp in early August. This is a wonderful way to get your kids out of the house and back on the field.

More information can be found on their website at

The AYSO National office has also created a micro site which is updated often containing guidelines on our Return to Play. You can find this site here for the latest information

Please keep in mind that while this is terrific guidance for us to return to play, all State and Local guidelines take precedence.

We hope to see you on the field soon,

Stay Safe and Healthy,

AYSO Region 2

All Spring refunds should now have been processed back to the credit cards used during the original transaction. We have heard from several families that they have received their refunds and for those that have not, we suspect that it is simply taking some additional time for the credit card processing. For those families that have not received their refunds, we can begin investigating those individual cases after May 30. This is to allot for this additional transaction time.

AYSO National has posted our return to play guidelines. You can view them here. While this is terrific news and we are eager to return to watching our children play, this is the first step. All volunteers will be directed as to how these guidelines will impact their specific tasks and all players will be instructed with these changes before any of us can return to the pitch.

In addition, we must wait for County and Local authorities to open the fields up for recreational use. We must also abide by any guidelines and restrictions set forth by these authorities.

We appear to be headed in the right direction and are eager to get back to playing.

Our Fall 2020 registration is open online.

We look forward to seeing all of you on the pitch shortly.

Saturday May 9, 2020

We remain in a time of unprecedented events and continued uncertainty as to what our new normal will be as we move forward.

Here is what we do know.

It is important to get our children exercising, socializing, and simply having fun. We plan on proceeding with our primary Fall 2020 season,
and registration for that season is now open. Our current plan is to run our Fall 2020 season during our normal August through November
timetable as we have done in years past. All players will be automatically placed on a waitlist. The primary reasons for this are twofold.
With all players going to the waitlist, we can gather a list of participants without charging those families who may currently need those
funds for basic household necessities. Should events transpire which prevent us from conducting our Fall season, this also save time
and energy involved with refunding all of those registrations. Once we are comfortable that our season will proceed, we will begin team
formation and all families will be contacted to complete their registrations at that time. We expect this to happen in early July or sooner.

We also know that no matter whatever our timetable turns out to be, things will be different. We can speculate on what these differences
may be, but with all the changes in the world today, this would simply be speculation. We will rely on Federal, State, and Local
Governments as well as AYSO National and US Soccer for guidance. Our utmost concern is for the safety of the children and we will
follow the direction from these agencies to remain up to date on all current guidelines to maintain this safety.

We will continue to update when we have definite information on how we will proceed.

We hope that all of you are remaining safe and healthy. Thank you all for your patience and we look forward to seeing all of you soon.

AYSO Region 2

         Thursday March 12, 2020

Region 2 has been closely monitoring the developing situation surrounding the COVID-19 virus. As we all know, the virus is present in Southern California, and guidance from the AYSO National office and our city and state government partners, is very fluid with new information coming in constantly.

Over the last few days, local and state officials have asked that everyone limit their time spent at public gatherings and in crowds. Today, (Thusday March 12th) the City of Arcadia made the decision that all fields and public facilities not be used for public gatherings until the end of April.  Additionally today, AYSO Area 1-C cancelled Spring Cup play for this weekend. Our expectation is that further postponement will be announced soon.

As a result, we have made the decision to postpone our Internal Spring Program (6U - 10U) completely until May 2nd. It is our hope that we can resume at that time and have a full program.

We will continue to monitor and update you with any pertinent information and look forward to getting all of our kids back on the pitch!
