2026-2027 Season Age Group Update
US Youth Soccer (USYS), US Club Soccer, and American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) have announced that they have agreed to adopt a seasonal year age group formation cycle for its players starting with the 2026-27 season. Current age group formation is based on a January. 1 - December 31 timeframe (“birth year”), this will be changed to a August 1 - July 31 timeframe beginning with the 2026-27 season. This represents the opportunity for more players to play soccer with their classmates.
